Zanteco Brilliant on Super Sunday

Zanteco has proved himself to be a quality competitor on the jumps circuits taking out his last three starts in feature hurdle events. The gelding’s winning treble started off in the $100,000 Brendan Drechsler Hurdle back in July before a 2 length victory in the $200,000 Grand National Hurdle at Sandown two weeks later.

Over the weekend he took out the $125,000 JJ Houlahan Hurdle in impressive fashion carrying 70.5kg for Brad McLean. This combined with the extremely wet conditions at Ballarat wasn’t enough to stop Zanteco cruising up to his rivals turning for home and going on to win by a massive 6 lengths.

Congratulations to all the connections involved in Zanteco’s successful jumps preparation and with him now heading off for a well deserved break the countdown to the next year’s jumps season begins!
