Woody Crowned Australian Jumper of the Year

To add to his impressive resume Gotta Take Care was crowned Australian Jumper of the Year, taking out the award with 76 votes, with Bashboy (60) in second place and Palmero (21) in third.

His first illustrious year started with a win in the $100,000 Galleywood Hurdle on the middle day of the Warrnambool Carnival, making this win even more significant was the fact he won a 2600m Open Handicap at Flemington 5 days earlier.

Following this he won the $ 100,000 Australian Steeplechase at Sportingbet Park and then made it three back to back wins in the Brendan Drechsler Hurdle at Bendigo.

His win in the Brendan Drechsler Hurdle took his earnings over $1 million, not bad for a horse who wasn’t going to make it until he tried the jumps.
