Voodoo Lad's Spellbinding Performance

After taking out the Lister Regal Roller Stakes at Caulfield in August, Voodoo Lad who has never missed a place in his 15 start career went into the Listed Chandler MacLeod Stakes as short price favourite at Moonee Valley over the weekend. But after missing the start and finding himself settling well back in the field the win looked seemingly impossible.

Rider Chris Parnham had no other option as he approached the home turn, with a wall of horses in front of him he was forced to circle the talented field of 14 and even though he was still a mile back the Lad showed an outstanding turn of foot to fly down the outside and straight past his rivals, defeating Keen Array by a length and stablemate Sebring Sun who finished third.

Congratulations to all the owners involved in what was Voodoo Lad’s fourth win of this preparation and without a doubt the most impressive….

We are all now eager to see what he can do next!
