Two Pakenham Cups in one year

With the old Pakenham track closing last year, the 2014 Pakenham Cup was run in April, after the new track opened in March this year and won by Tooleybuc Kid.

The 2015 Pakenham Cup was ran on the weekend and funnily enough was won by stable mate Our Voodoo Prince.

Although the track was favouring on pace runners earlier in the day, Damien Oliver defied the pattern when settling in a midfield position. He bided his time and produced Our Voodoo Prince with the perfect run to win by a neck to Duplicity Jones and Second Bullet.

Our Voodoo Prince was purchased from the tried horse sale in August for $140,000 and since joining the stable has won his purchase price back, which is a great achievement for the eight year old.

To win the same Cup twice in the same year is truly unique.
