Tosen Stardom’s gobsmacking Emirates triumph.

Tosen Stardom was back to his scintillating best on Saturday when he produced a spell-binding performance at Flemington to take out the Group 1 $2 million Emirates Stakes on the final day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Stepping out to 2000m and on the seven day ‘back up’, Tosen Stardom jumped from barrier four and jockey Damian Lane soon had the seven-year-old stallion settled and relaxed in a midfield position on the rail. Travelling strongly as they entered the straight, Damian kept a cool head as the pair had to overcome some early trouble before switching across heels and diving through the gap when it finally appeared at the 150m. Tosen Stardom fired up his huge motor and flew home for an outstanding 1.5 length victory, confirming just what an exciting racehorse he is.

The now two-time Group 1 winner boosted his prizemoney to over $3 million in what was a thrilling day for everyone involved. It was the perfect finale for what has been another hugely successful Spring Carnival. Congratulations!
