Three straight for Leather’n’lace

Cliff just edges them out.

Front running filly Leather’n’lace (below) is after some Black Type success following yet another impressive victory over the weekend, making it three from three this preparation. She kicked off her campaign with a thrashing Maiden win on a heavy track at Warrnambool before another provincial score earned her an opportunity at her first Saturday city class race when she lined up against the other 3YO fillies in the $120,000 Pinchapoo Plate at Caulfield. Jumping straight to the lead, she was eyeballed in the early stages before clearly taking over. She dictated the race and travelled strongly into the straight where she shot clear and went on for an easy two length salute. It was another very nice performance by the filly who is really leaving her mark as she quickly rises through her grades.

It was a day of early success for the team with Cliff’s Edge (below) making it a winning double by race two with another strong performance in the Three Year Old Handicap over 1600m. He got the run of the race in behind the leader before taking over at the final 100m and pulling clear by almost a length over Sunquest and Pres De Toi. Cliff’s Edge has been a very consistent performer and it was great to see him get his third career win on the board
