Talented Tonopah

Making his debut for the stable, after previously being trained in Sydney, Tonopah produced the goods in the BM78 1600m Handicap at Sandown.

Having trialled ok at Terang on the Monday before Boxing Day, we were more hopeful than anything heading into his first up run in the anti-clockwise direction.

Ridden by Brad Rawiller, he was three wide with cover for the majority of the run. He was able to guide him into clear running in the home straight to go on and win by 2 lengths.

Owned by Warratah Thoroughbreds, Paul Fudge, they have had an impressive strike rate since joining the stable in 2014, three runners, for three winners. Hopefully the good run can continue into the New Year.
