Star Shines Bright at Flemington

Stratum Star handled the rise in class with ease, when scoring in the Listed Yellowglen Vintage Stakes over 1400m at Flemington.


Stratum Star has been a work in progress since joining the stable late in the 2013/2014 season.


Doing things wrong in his work and on the racetrack, the move to our beach stable in Warrnambool has proved to be a smart one, with his whole demeanour to racing changing.


Stratum Star gained a confidence boost and turned the corner when bolting in at Swan Hill. He was a bit stiff at his last start at Donald, but moving forward the Yellowglen Vintage Stakes looked to be the right race to test if he was really up to the mark.


Ridden superbly by Brad Rawiller by Brad Rawiller, he tucked him away nicely just off the leaders with cover. Once into the clear he dashed home down the long Flemington straight to win by half a neck.


Stratum Star will have one more run before being aimed at a black type race over the Flemington Carnival.
