Stable Continues Success in Adelaide

After having the best strike rate in Australia for their winners to runners in Adelaide last season, the Darren Weir stable has continued on its winning way.

So far from five runners this season, the stable has saddled three winners including a double last Saturday at Morphettville with Peronne Lady and Corvidae. Both had to overcome difficulties in the straight and were ridden by 3kg claiming apprentice Jake Duffy. Duffy has been all three winners, winning on Gotta Keep Cool in early August. It was another terrific advertisement of the stable’s policy of placing their horses where they can win.

Following on from a fast-finishing fourth at Caulfield, Peronne Lady last Saturday sat just off a hot pace and when she finally saw daylight, she rounded up the opposition before coming away for an easy win.

Four-year-old entire Corvidae was badly held up for a run with 200m to travel but once into the clear he put paid to his rivals.
