Sling shot win

Tuscan Sling won the $35,000 Sportingbet Powered by William Hill BM64 Handicap over 1000m in impressive fashion at Moonee Valley.

With a low flying time of 57.68 seconds, she was less than half a second outside Miss Andretti’s track record of 57.22 seconds.

It was just her second start after beating moderate competition at Donald in November.

“We thought she’d be pretty hard to beat on what she had been doing at home and it looks like she has got a future,” said Weir.

Ridden to perfection by Harry Coffey, the flashy Danehill Dancer mare raced away to win by over 5.5 lengths. “She still had plenty left in the tank and she’s got a bit of attitude about her to. But like most good looking girls they’ve got attitude to, so you just put up with them,” said Harry with a cheeky grin following the win.

It was Harry’s second win for the evening, saluting on stable mate Kelkea in the 2040m Maiden Plate earlier in the night. Bred & owned by a group of people from Swan Hill, it was a fitting win for Harry & his local connections.

Tee N Tee also backed up her dynamite win at Werribee with a narrow win in the Fillies & Mares BM64 Handicap over 1523m at Moonee Valley.
