Rue Maple Retires After a Great Racing Career

ATB's Rue Maple brings the curtain down on a wonderful career.

One of our gun mares Rue Maple, has been retired from the track following her 30th race start and prizemoney earnings of $397,572.

A winner of 5 races- with 4 city wins, she also ran many unlucky seconds to quality horses, including a Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes runner-up behind Group 1 Stradbroke winner Mid Summer Music.

ATB’s Darren Dance said "From her 1st start at Swan Hill where she won at good odds and broke the track record as a 2 yr old, to her last start, she always gave her best."

"She was just so honest and had a great following with our clients and the racing public in general."

"She will be missed around Darren Weirs stables l am sure as everyone loved 'Annie'."

Rue Maple will be retained by her partners – ATB and the Gereaux family (who bred her) and will be sent to stud in the next week or so.

We all look forward to racing little Rue Maples in the coming years.
