Platelet Wins Group 1 Sangster Stakes

Ultra consistent mare Platelet put in a career best performance when winning the $400,000 Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphettville. Ridden perfectly by Ben Melham, she settled just off the speed before sprinting quickly in the straight and putting the race beyond doubt in the matter of strides. Purchased from the bloodstock.com.au website by Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock’s Darren Dance, the daughter of Strategic has now won six races and over $625,000 in prizemoney. She gave trainer Darren Weir his second Group 1 success following She’s Archie’s success in the South Australian Oaks, ironically also at Morphettville ten years earlier. Platelet will aim for further Group 1 success when returning to Adelaide in two weeks time for ‘The Goodwood’.
