Off and Flying

Platelet ‘kicked off’ what is likely to be her last campaign with a victory in the Final Heat of the Jeep 55 Second Challenge.

Originally allotted 62kg, 3kg apprentice Dylan Dunn was engaged for the race and duly gave a her a quality ride.

It was the six-year-old Strategic mare’s 10th victory and she has amassed nearly $1.4 million in stakes.

She will again be aimed at the ‘Adelaide’ Group 1 double – the Robert Sangster Stakes and The Goodwood, which she was able to win two years ago, before finishing 2nd in both races last year.

Platelet’s win gave the stable three heat winners with Hotel Sierra and recently retired Let’s Rock ‘n’ Roll winning earlier in the series.

Stevie Payne (pictured) was again on duty for strapping duties. The connection between these two is amazing!!
