Kenedna Impresses

Off the back of a little freshen up after a third placing in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes back in March, Kenedna has been in terrific form taking out two black type races in a row as she continues on her journey towards the Schweppes Oaks. After winning the Listed $110,000 Laelia Stakes at Morphettville she headed back across the border to take on the three year old’s in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes, but had a task ahead of her from one of the outside barriers. With a great ride from Johnny Allen he went back after the start where he managed to find himself just off midfield on the fence. As she travelled up strongly she needed a lot of luck, but Johnny managed to peel off their backs and as he weaved… and weaved his way through gaps – day light finally appeared at the 200m where she went on for an outstanding 1.5 length victory.

With roads now leading to her first crack at Group 1 glory in the Oaks it’s going to be an exciting couple of weeks ahead for everyone involved!
