Ken and Hijack Salute In Town

Hijack Hussy got her breakthrough victory with the stable at Flemington over the weekend when she put in a triumphant performance to break her 25 month drought from the winners stall. Hijack is in her second preparation with us and it was a fast run Benchmark 84 Handicap for the Fillies and Mares that allowed Hijack to show she’s still got it! With Beau Mertens taking 2 kilos off her back she settled at the tail of the field where she travelled sweetly. Turning for home she peeled off their backs and showed an almighty turn of foot to swoop past the entire field and fight strongly to the line to narrowly defeat La Speciale. With the confidence of a win under her belt hopefully she can continue on with that form this campaign.

Our other winner of the day came from Kenjorwood who put in a solid on pace performance to prove victorious over his rivals. Putting the pressure on the favourite Mihany mid-race he travelled well into the straight but when the fave kicked clear it took Ken’s fighting heart to reel him in and eventually score by just under half a length over Artie’s Shore and Mihany.

It was great to see both of these horses back in the winners enclosure. Congratulations to everyone involved!
