Kansha Breaks Maiden in Impressive Style

The team at Darren Weir Racing celebrated a thrilling performance at Sandown on Wednesday when the promising galloper, Kansha, produced an explosive turn of foot to win the MRC Perri Cutten Blue Diamond Fashion Stakes Maiden over 1800m.

Ridden by Brad Rawiller, Kansha (ex Arabian Nights) settled at the tail of the field throughout the running, and was still stone cold last with 350m remaining and the leader no less than eight lengths ahead.

When balanced and in the clear, the three-year-old colt let down stylishly and steamed home down the outside to swamp the front runners by a head.

From the Group 2 placed mare Arabian Nights, Kansha has now had four starts in Melbourne and appears to have continually improved from each run.

Kansha was bred by Masterpiece Enterprises Ltd and was sold at the 2012 Karaka Yearling Sales for $47,000 on account of Te Runga Stud. He is now leased by a great group of owners who are about to no doubt enjoy exciting times ahead!

Postponed, who stands at Westbury Stud in NZ, is currently enjoying a purple patch of form having sired nine individual winners this month alone in Australia and New Zealand.
