French Import On Track For Cup

Five-year-old import Puissance De Lune, donkey-licked his rivals at Mornington on Wednesday, is on track for the $250,000 Bendigo Cup at the end of the month. Purchased privately out of France 18 months ago by owner Gerry Ryan with the view of aiming him at the Victorian Country Cups, in particular the Bendigo Cup, which is sponsored by Ryan. As a final lead up to the Cup, he’ll tackle the Benchmark 89 over 2200m at Warrnambool, where he first made a name for himself impressively winning at his Australian debut back in May. The son on Shamardal, was meant to start in the Benella Cup on Sunday before it was wash out, has now had five starts in Australia for three wins.
