Flemington Win Completes Great Week

 When exciting three-year-old gelding Prince Of Penzance proved too strong for his opposition in the final race at Flemington on Saturday, it completed another very successful week for trainer Darren Weir. The win gave ‘Weiry’ his 26th winner in Melbourne for the season which is a career best effort. This came hard on the heels of yet another very successful Warrnambool Carnival where he was again the leading trainer – he produced 4 winners and a further 9 placings from 22 starters. The stable also clicked over the $5 million in earnings for the season, by far its best ever season.
