Cracking Day at Kyneton

Kyneton Cup day was a huge success for the team taking out five races on the nice race card.

The winning ways started off in the first race of the day with Royal Ace winning his debut by 2.75 lengths in the Bet365 Maiden Plate. Moonlites Choice continued her run of magnificent form making it 3 wins from 3 starts when she proved too good for the other Fillies and Mares in the Benchmark 70 Handicap. Light ‘n’ Fire then made it two in a row with a 0.75 length victory over Emoji before Taiyoo highlighted the day when he returned to winning form in the feature event, the $100,000 Kyneton Cup. He settled down midfield with Brad Rawiller in the saddle. Travelling well approaching the home he was four wide when he entered the straight but when the leader had kicked away Taiyoo had to find something – and he did, storming home over the final 150m to defeat Tears of Joy with almost half a length to spare. It was delightful to see him take home the cup!

Labuan Star finished off the day in winning fashion when he ran down the tearaway leader Captain Crackerjack to defeat him by three-quarters of a length in the last race of the day.
