Brilliant Bart!

Black Heart Bart has started off his spring campaign superbly when he put in a dominant performance on Saturday and took out the $500,000 Memsie Stakes at Caulfield.

The champ who was ridden by Brad Rawiller started as hot favourite in the first Group One of the season and definitely didn’t disappoint. Settling midfield off the pace, Brad peeled off their backs turning for home and cruised up to them with 200 metres to go where he took over and went on to defeat Rising Romance by over a length and stablemate Mahuta who finished third.

It was a magnificent effort by the horse who was first up and it added to his amazing record since joining the stable at the start of 2016. From 6 starts he has saluted in two Group 1 races and a Group 3 race, as well as finishing very narrow second placings at his other three starts… all at Group 1 level!

Congratulations to Kim Renner and everyone involved…. it’s looking like a very exciting spring ahead!
