Adelaide Trip on Agenda For Filly

Flying Hostess could be in line for a trip to Adelaide after her strong win on her home track at Ballarat on Thursday. The filly's trainer Darren Weir is now looking at running her in the $80,000 Queen Adelaide Stakes, a Listed race for two-year-olds over 1050m at Morphettville on February 4. After a good debut run over 900m at Sandown when finishing third after starting from an outside barrier, Flying Hostess booted up on the fence to hold the inside running. She looked beaten in the straight but showed a lot of courage to fight back and proved too strong on the line. She was purchased by "Weiry" for $25,000 as a yearling at the Sydney Classic Sale and has nearly recoup her purchase price after just two starts. Her victory provided her Chilean-bred sire Host, which stands at the Swettenham Stud, his first Australian success.
