It was a late Christmas present delivered to the team and connections of Twitchy Frank, Native Soldier and Silentz at Caulfield on Boxing Day with all horses taking part in our winning treble!

Twitchy Frank kicked things off in race number one to score her second win from just three starts this preparation. The four year old mare lumped 60kg to victory under a nice ride from apprentice Chris Caserta before Classy colt Native Soldier blitzed his rivals in the $120,000 Listed Christmas Stakes with a slashing 1.25 length victory in the feature event.

Silentz closed out boxing with the team’s winning treble and Chris Caserta’s winning double when he went one better following his second placing in the Port Fairy Cup at Warrnambool two weeks ago. Lining up in the $100,000 Benchmark 78 Handicap over 1600m, the five year old settled down in the second half of the field  before turning for home buried on the fence. Eventually Chris worked his way into the clear around the 250m mark where Silentz took off down the outside and drew clear to salute by an impressive half length.

From all of us here at Darren Weir Racing we hope you had a Merry Christmas and wish you a happy and successful 2019!
