Bondeiger in Red-Hot Form!

Bondeiger has that ‘winning feeling’ well and truly back after he made it three victories in a row, including his first at Black Type level, when taking out the $250,000 Group 3 Launceston Cup over 2400m on Wednesday.

The six year old stallion started his hat trick of wins back at Moonee Valley on Australia Day before proving that was no fluke when he was again too strong for his opposition over the staying trip of 2400m across the border at Morphettville. With these two strong staying victories under his belt, Darren felt he had earned his place in the Group 3 Launceston Cup, and his judgement was spot on. With a terrific ride from Regan Bayliss, Bondeiger drifted back to settle down towards the tail of the big field of sixteen. Approaching the 600m he began to quickly improve his position as the gaps opened up, and he was only a length off the leaders as they straightened for home, before surging through to salute by an impressive half length over Fastnet Dragon and Pretty Punk. His victory also provided Darren with back to back Launceston Cups after Big Duke was successful last year.

It was another great result for Eales Racing Syndications who race Bondeiger with a group of loyal owners, and a big congratulations to everyone involved!
